Johnny's Story 

From an early age Johnny was creative and imaginative. It was little wonder then that he taught himself how to play numerous instruments and began writing songs. In their teens Johnny and friends formed a band; Starboard Jubilee. Johnny wrote many songs and lyrics and soon they were performing live. He taught himself how to record music, leaving us a huge library of demos, fragments of songs and ideas. We are still discovering mp3s and videos of him performing to this day.
When Johnny passed away tragically of heart failure in June 2022 family and friends were left heartbroken and devastated.

We all wanted to be part of making Johnny’s name live forever in the way he would have wanted it to, through music.

Following the event in 2023 we will be promoting a drive for bands and musicians to sign up for our community of music lovers to produce our next annual event. We will be registering our activities as a community interest group (not for profit). Proceeds of ticket sales and fundraising will contribute to an annual event and to training and mentoring for young people in event production, project management skills and sound engineering. We are even hoping to set up a local recording and live streaming facility in the longer term
